Live Sessions with Aleph & Jansen Duo
Perola Cocktail Bar
Aleph Aguiar & Jansen Santana bring a vivid conversation between Afro‑Venezuelan jazz and the grooves of Salvador‑Bahia to Perola at art’otel London Battersea.
Venezuelan composer Aleph Aguiar draws on his acclaimed albums Pataruco (2015) and Maku (2017), and the palette of his forthcoming Sugar on my Blackbeans, extending Afro‑Venezuelan roots into contemporary jazz.
Brazilian multi‑instrumentalist Jansen Santana, born in Salvador‑Bahia, channels a lifetime in music—on stage from the age of three alongside his father, artist Peu Meurray, and guided by his mother, singer Cida Nunes.
Together, they weave ancestral rhythms, lyrical melodies and spontaneous interplay into original pieces and re‑imagined traditions. Expect rich polyrhythms, soulful textures and improvisation that feels intimate yet expansive—music that bridges Caracas and Bahia with London’s eclectic spirit.
